Cool down and warm to brigade fundraiser

GETTING to know the neighbours, learning how to stay fire safe and thanking the local fire brigade is the aim of a Christmas bush barbecue at Cherrabah Resort this Saturday.
The resort is set to open its doors in support of the Wildash Rural Fire Brigade which has battled many fires over the past year, most recently the blaze on Cullendore Road on the NSW border.
Entertainment, raffles, bar facilities and the chance to cool down in the swimming pool will be on offer to community members from 4pm.
Cherrabah operations manager Fran Edney said the aim of the day was two-fold – to drum up monetary support for the local fire brigade and to recruit a few more volunteers.
“We are really passionate about this beautiful part of the country and we want to keep it that way,” Ms Edney said.
“Hopefully it is nice weather and we can get the local and rural communities back here and promote what Wildash does.”
Entry to the resort at 1 Keoghs Road, Elbow Valley, is $20 for adults $10 for children aged five to 13.
