Post and under graduate aviation training

TOOWOOMBA’S Wellcamp Airport has signed an agreement with Airline Academy of Australia to offer aviation training.
University of Southern Queensland will provide the under graduate and post graduate training to aspiring international aviators in conjuction with the academy.
The airport will afford professional pilot and aircraft maintenance engineering training, instructors and also permanently house light aircraft.
Disabled parking misuse: hefty fines
PEOPLE caught misusing disabled parking spaces in NSW will now receive demerit point penalties as well as a $519 fine.
The non-negotiable stance applys to anyone found parking in a disabled carspace without a valid mobility sticker.
Marshall backs Indegenous recognition
MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has pledged his support for a federal referendum to recognise Indigenous Australians in the nation’s Constitution.
The NSW government was the first state to back the Recognise campaign.
Record temperatures in 2014
THE year 2014 is on track to be the hottest on record, according to World Meteorological Organisation estimates.
Global average air temperatures over land and sea for January to October was about 0.57 degrees above the 14 degrees for the 1961-1990 reference period and 0.09 degrees higher than the average for the past 10 years.
Energy efficiency grants up for grabs
INDIVIDUAL groups can apply for Ergon Energy grants of up to $5000 for projects that deliver energy efficiency or electrical safety.
Applications for the next funding round will close 5pm, 15 December.
