A MALE cleaner has suffered severe facial injuries after being bashed by four teenagers last week.
The cleaner was working on the grounds of Stanthorpe State Primary School when he was attacked by two male and two female teenagers about 3.45am last Friday.
Police have examined CCTV footage and say they are confident they will be able to identify and arrest the offenders. Anyone with information is urged to call police.
Four face drug charges
THE interception of a number of vehicles during the week has resulted in four persons being charged with a variety of drug charges.
A 53-year-old male received a drug diversion after a small amount of cannabis and implements were located in the vehicle he was driving at Severnlea about midday on 14 February.
A short time later police located cannabis in a vehicle stopped on Wallangarra Road, which resulted in the 29-year-old male tourist being charged with possession of a dangerous drug.
In the early hours of Monday 16 February, a routine traffic stop resulted in the seizure of a pipe allegedly used for the administration of ‘crack’ along with about 14 grams of a crystallised substance believed to be amphetamines. Two men aged 31 and 33 were charged with possessing dangerous drugs.
Charged with drug possession
ABOUT 1.35am Sunday police were called to a hotel in Victoria Street to assist security after a female was refused entry to the establishment.
The 23-year-old woman was found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis and will face Stanthorpe Magistrates’ Court charged with possession.
Sheep gone to the dogs
ON SUNDAY morning Stanthorpe police were called to a property at Texas Road, Broadwater, where two rottweiler dogs were attacking a flock of sheep. Police were forced to destroy both animals to prevent further attacks and later located about a dozen dead sheep on the property. The owner of the dogs was later located.
