Council online

A NEW service will allow Southern Downs residents to access development application searches, view property details and water accounts, rates balances and dog registration information – all online.
Mayor Peter Blundell says people can go to council’s website (www.sdrc.qld.gov.au) and click on the “online services“ button on the front page.
“This tool will allow members of the public to view details of development applications in our region, including applications for building works, material change of use, reconfiguring a lot, operational works and environmentally relevant activities,” he said.
“Accessible information will include details such as the type of application, applicant names, location and decision dates.
“The online system has a number of very useful applications – registered users will be able to view their land and property details including their rates balance and recent transactions, registered animals, water accounts and applications they have submitted.
“Council is pleased to present this new tool to the community. It will save time for everyone and will be a more transparent process.
“Council is steadily building a suite of resources that help the public find out council information quickly and easily,“ he said.
