Murder trial delay

A MAN accused of murdering a Warwick grandmother may not face court until next year, due to ongoing court delays.
Gail Lynch’s former partner, Ian Phillip Hannaford, is accused of killing her in July 2012 and was due to face trial next month.
Warwick Police Senior Acting Officer Shane Reid said the matter had been pushed back as upcoming court sittings did not have time to hear the evidence.
“It looks more likely that the matter will be heard towards the end of the end of the year or even early next year, it depends on what sittings the courts have available,” he said.
The case may be transferred from Toowoomba to the Brisbane Supreme Court.
Ms Lynch was last seen at a residence in Guy Street in Warwick and has not been found despite extensive searches. Hannaford was arrested a few weeks are her disappearance.
The 59-year-old from Toowoomba has been held in custody since his arrest.
