Angus sale coming soon

The annual Sunstate Angus Bull Sale will be held at the Warwick Municipal Saleyards on Friday, July 29, starting at 1pm.
Seventy bulls have been catalogued from 15 studs from Miles to Goondiwindi, to Stanthorpe, to Boonah and across the Darling Downs.
The vendors of this sale have nominated their best bulls and the quality will be equal to other years.
The Sunstate sale vendors utilise the best Angus genetics available in the breed today.
More than 15 extensively used AI sires from ‘top shelf’ Australian and overseas herds are represented in the catalogue.
This gives buyers the opportunity to source genetic material to suit their individual breeding program.
All bulls will be vaccinated with either 5×1 and Lepto or 7×1; Vibrio and tested Pesti virus free.
They will be vet checked and semen tested and backed by their vendors.
Again, the bulls will be weighed and scanned the day before the sale and this data will be available on sale day.
The bulls will be individually penned before and after the sale and only boxed within the buyers’ lots upon their instructions following the sale or to comply with individual buyers’ transport requirements.
Most bulls have their breedplan figures in the catalogue and these show that there is a significant number with above breed average for growth, EMA and IMF.
Also for those purchasers seeking bulls to join to their heifers, there are a good number of bulls that will suit this task.
Local beef producers have the opportunity to source top Angus bulls whose progeny will fit the markets, which are being driven by consumer demand.
This demand has led us to seeing Angus labelled products in our supermarkets, as well as in top class restaurants and several national fast food outlets.
Agents for the 2011 Sunstate Bull Sale will be George and Fuhrmann, Warwick and TopX of Roma.
Outside agents’ rebate has been increased to three per cent, as the sale committee recognises the rising costs of travel in bringing buyers to the sale.
Local Sunstate sale vendors for the 2011 sale include David Mallett of Azimuth Angus of Greenmount (first time vendor); Malcolm Turner of Namgooyah Angus, Warwick; Kelly Smith of K5X Angus, Allora; Julia Simmons of Glenlachie Angus, Clifton, who bred the $7000 top price bull at the 2010 sale; Andrew Bryant of Clunes Crossing Angus, Dalveen; Peter Crisp of Destiny Angus, Stanthorpe; and Barry Frame of Basic Black Angus, Loch Lomond.
