Authentic experience

FROM the old world charm of the shops and houses to the rolling foothills and secluded valleys, Killarney is a scenic gem.
Nestled in the Border Ranges between Queensland and New South Wales, it has picture postcard beauty provided by the Great Dividing Range.
Located 196 kilometres south-west of Brisbane and 33 km south-east of Warwick, the village is close to everything and yet not too close.
Those travelling south on the Cunningham or New England Highways can divert onto the Cedar Route tourist drive and cruise at a leisurely pace through the rural landscape and small villages which are remnant of much larger rural communities.
Alternatively follow the path of the timber getters and early explorers by travelling over the range from Boonah via The Teviot.
Despite its proximity to major centres, Killarney is a refreshingly unspoiled destination for travellers who are seeking an escape from the crowded city.
Visit for an authentic country experience.
The town is full of old world charm, the houses mostly classic Queenslanders with original shop fronts and historic hotel making a stroll down the street an unhurried pleasure.
Essential supplies are provided by the Co-Op, a large modern supermarket, service station, deli and coffee shop all in the one complex! Killarney also boasts the best St Vinnies in Australia, post office, ATM, hotel, butcher, newsagent, cafes and coffee shops along with the local artists’ gallery are around the corner in Willow Street.
The Killarney area offers activities to enjoy no matter how long the stay.
Enjoy spectacular scenery, bush walking, exploring the villages of the cedar route, cycling, bird watching, swimming, taking a tour, eating, golfing, flora and fauna discovery, camping, drop into the Killarney Historical Society and don’t forget to relish the serenity!
