Warwick woman ploughs pedestrian
A 24-year-old woman has been charged after driving her car into another woman in Warwick yesterday.
The incident is alleged to have occurred around 12.10pm near the intersection outside the Cherry Tree when two women, believed to have known each other, became involved in an altercation where a cricket bat was used as a weapon.
It resulted in the woman driving her car into the other woman, also 24-years-old, and knocking her to the ground before turning around and attempting to hit her again.
The woman has been charged with acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in Warwick Magistrates’ Court on September 30.

Half-nude scuffle at McDonald’s
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a man was charged with a multitude of offences after an altercation outside the Warwick McDonald’s.
Police were called to the premises after a complaint was made.
The 20-year-old man was half-naked and displaying erratic behaviour when police arrested him for breaching his bail conditions.
He was charged with public nuisance, breach of bail, assault and obstructing police and taken to Warwick Hospital for minor injuries.

Drug charges near Stanthorpe High
Two men were charged for drug offences in Stanthorpe last Thursday after being stopped by police near Stanthorpe High School.
Their vehicle was stopped and searched in McGlew Street where police found a set of scales, cannabis and amphetamines.
The driver of the vehicle returned a positive saliva drug test and the passenger was charged with possessing dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Two years for head stomp
A 41-year-old man accused of stomping the head of another man outside the Stockyard Hotel has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
After an altercation outside the premises, the attacker was seen on CCTV to enter the fight, stomp on the victim’s head and then carry on drinking at the establishment.
He was sentenced to two years’ jail but will be eligible for parole in May next year.
