THE 2015 Warwick Rodeo is fast approaching and over the weekend Warwick announced its new addition to royalty.
The Rodeo Queen Quest was held on Saturday night with numerous awards across various age categories but the big winner was this year’s Miss Warwick Rodeo Queen Georgie Stower.
Supporters packed the Douglas Feez Pavilion on Saturday night with 15 entrants battling it out.
In the end, Georgie Stower took the top prize in her first attempt.
“It’s a great honour to win this title. It is a very prestigious event and I absolutely take pride in winning,” Ms Stower said.
“My first job as rodeo queen is going to Sydney with Miss Rodeo Australia to meet the international queens. Then it will be a full week of rodeo next week.”
Ms Stower grew up in Pittsworth where she also went to school and currently works for Charlton Produce on the outskirts of Toowoomba.
“My passions are rodeo and campdrafting which is also why I entered the competition,” she said.
“I first heard about the competition many years ago and have always admired all the girls. I thought this year would be a great year as I felt like I was well prepared and ready to have a go. I have absolutely loved being an entrant in the quest and it’s an honour to win and be the face of Australia’s most famous rodeo and campdraft.
“I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months have to offer. Hopefully I can inspire some young women like myself to enter next year.”
The official start of the rodeo will be on Monday 19 October.
