Young leader makes it to the top

A WOODENBONG Central School student had the opportunity of a life time in Sydney today as she met with other students from around the state at the NSW Parliament House.
Bernadette Hickling was part of the 2016 Aboriginal Student of the Year Emerging Leaders Forum and met with numerous state politicians including her local member Lismore MP Thomas George.
“It was wonderful to have Bernadette Hickling, from Woodenbong Central School, in Parliament House today to attend the 2016 Aboriginal Student of the Year Emerging Leaders Forum,” Mr George said.
“This is a great opportunity to meet with other students from around NSW and speak with some of our state leaders, Premier Mike Baird, Deputy Premier Troy Grant and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Leslie Williams.”
