Warwick local on ‘Roll of Honour’

Local fitness industry professional, Julie Johnson, has been named in the inaugural year of Fitness Australia’s Industry Roll of Honour in recognition of her outstanding contribution to and achievements within the health and fitness industry.
Ms Johnson, owner of Warwick Personal Training and Pilates Studio, first became a registered exercise professional in 1985.
Throughout her extensive career, Ms Johnson has been honoured with many rewards including Fitness Leader of the Year, an Australian Fitness Network’s Lifetime Achievement Award and recognition through Fitness Queensland and Fitness Australia.
“Too often the voice of a few, with narrow vision, is heard above the disinterested silence of the many. If we want to see a change, then we are responsible for making it happen,” she said.
During her two terms as vice president of Fitness Australia, Ms Johnson played a fundamental role in the development of national training packages and registration schemes to create an industry standard for exercise professionals throughout Australia.
“The Roll of Honour recognises the significant time and expertise that has been given by health and fitness professionals to advance the fitness industry in Australia, and help promote its contribution to the health and well-being of the nation,” Fitness Australia CEO Lauretta Stace said.
Sixteen individuals from across Australia are being recognised on the Roll of Honour for their work in developing Fitness Australia and promoting the positive values of the fitness industry.
“These passionate individuals have worked tirelessly to raise industry standards and integrate health and fitness into the life of everyday Australians,” Ms Stace said.
“In recognising their role as leaders and champions of health and fitness, we hope to encourage the entire industry to approach their work with the same energy and commitment,” she said.
