Council targets business investment

Southern Downs Regional Mayor Ron Bellingham last week launched the council’s new business investment prospectus saying the council is “deeply committed” to attracting business investment to the region.
The new investment prospectus ‘Business and life is easy on the Southern Downs’ was developed by the council’s economic development unit and is now available in hard copy and on the internet.
“This is a fantastic document that clearly outlines the benefits of locating business in the region,” Cr Bellingham said.
“Not only are we on a central transport hub, our lower cost of doing business, enviable lifestyle and stable workforce make the area very attractive for relocation or expansion of business,” he said.
“Our goal with this prospectus is to tell investors that it is easy to do business in the Southern Downs.”
The prospectus will be used to promote the Southern Downs region to high level external investors as a prime destination for business investment.
The document will become the council’s key item of marketing collateral for investment attraction into the Southern Downs.
In moving with the times, the new 12-page prospectus is available in traditional hard copy as well as an online interactive version utilising flash page flip technology.
Community services director Tony Minuti said the online version was a new development not seen in regional councils.
“It offers a cost effective and modern means to access potential investment markets both domestically and internationally, ensuring we get maximum reach without high printing or distribution costs,” Mr Minuti said.
“We have also included the capability to add additional industry specific information to customise the prospectus dependent on the investment enquiry,” he said.
The prospectus will be distributed to core markets and potential investors by traditional distribution methods as well as via online marketing.
You can view the prospectus by visiting www.southerndowns.qld.gov.au or by contacting the council’s economic development unit on (07) 4681 5527.
