Comet soars in our sky

A magnificent comet soars in the southeastern sky with Comet Lovejoy (C/2011 W3) discovered by a Queensland amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy on November 27. The comet survived its close encounter with the sun on December 16 and is now moving away from the sun, but getting closer to Earth. Its magnificent tail will become visible in the early morning southeastern sky from about  1am. This comet will return in 2679.
