Bob and Pam de Lissa celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Tuesday 2 November, holding a celebration at their home at The Glen on Saturday 6 November.

The two, who both hail from Sydney, met on a blind date when Pam needed a date for a ball.

They went to see Oklahoma at the drive-in movies.

Both say that the key to a good marriage is being independent people.

“It’s important to be your own people.”

Bob says wanting to be married is important, with both people putting in 100 per cent of their efforts to it.

Bob and Pam moved around a lot together and said that being isolated in one place makes you stick together too.

The couple and their family have lived in the Southern Downs since 2008.

They have two children, Leigh and Stephen, and four granddaughters, Giorgia, Chloe, Alessia, and Camille.
