Book now for seniors events

Tenterfield has a full program organised for Senior Citizens Week;  bookings for some events must be made immediately.
Replacing the annual mystery tour will be a lunch at Anna’s Restaurant in Stanthorpe at 12 noon on Sunday, March 20. The $25 cost does include the bus fee. Numbers for this must be confirmed by tomorrow morning. Those wishing to attend a School of Arts Lunch in the Banquet Room at 11.45am on Monday, March 22, must book now. The cost is just $12 and includes a guest speaker from the library describing the services on offer for seniors.
This Saturday everyone is welcome to the Community Harvest Festival at the Salvation Army Citadel at 6pm. There will be market stalls.
Next week Grandparents Day will be organised by local schools, Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Primary and St Joseph’s.  On Thursday at 1pm there is the Forty-fives and Over get together at the community centre. Join them for a social game of cards.
A highlight event will be the Seniors Week concert at the Bowling Club. For a gold coin donation only, hear some good old songs and music by Jon Doyle. It starts at 10am and is sponsored by the Senior Citizens committee and the Bowls Club.
There’s more free entertain-ment at Millrace Fete on Saturday, March 26, when Lindsay Butler will be performing along with other entertainers. This is a free event. The fete runs from 8am to 2pm and promises to be a pleasant day out.
Christine Sommerlad has been taking bookings in the Tenterfield Shire Council foyer this week. If you want to get along to any of these activities, phone her on (02) 6736 1788.
