Urbenville set to come alive

There will be plenty of bull riding action this September.
Urbenville, a quiet rural NSW village, 28km from the Queensland border, is finally gearing up to come alive again, with the Urbenville Village Festival & Bull Ride to be held on the rescheduled date of Saturday, September 8, with hopes for fine weather on this day.
This day and night charity event will support the Urbenville Rural Fire Service, Urbenville SES and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service.
The village festival theme, which had been reborn from years gone by, was well accepted in the 2010 event.
After the disappointment of the cancellation of the 2011 event due to bad weather conditions, which flooded the grounds, once again striking in May 2012, Urbenville will be ready to put on a show as they will not be defeated and with the added attraction of the NRA Bull Ride to excite all-comers.
The day is to include something for everyone, a great family experience from 11am including face painting, children’s activities by Urbenville Public School presenting a Kids’ Area Fun Centre, market stalls, old motor show and displays of fence post ripping.
A huge charity auction will be held in the afternoon at half-time from the bull ride, with fantastic goods being offered, which have been kindly donated by numerous supporters.
The event is to be well catered for with a variety of food and drink services.
The evening’s entertainment of music, food and bar will keep the festivities continuing into the night.
The location chosen at the Urbenville Showground is most suitable, with loads of parking, seating in the grandstand and on the hill so, to gain your best advantage, bring along your folding chairs.

The gates will open at 11am, with the bull ride scheduled for 2pm.
Entry will be $10 per person or family of four (children under 12 years) $20.
