The Wallangara Driver Reviver located at the Lions Park on the highway just shy of the New South Wales border is being hailed the best in the region and it’s easy to see why.

The Driver Reviver is run by more than 50 volunteers offering tremendous community support and is open every day of the Queensland and New South Wales school holidays, over three months of the Christmas New Year period and every other weekend.

Locals, visitors and travellers flock to the site to enjoy free coffee, tea and biscuits.

Brian Springborg has been running the show since 1991 and said the great community spirit in Wallangara is what keeps the Driver Reviver open.

“There are clean toilets, a sitting area and a great playground for the children to stretch their legs in,” Mr Springborg said.

“We even get regulars coming through for catch-ups.”

Volunteer Russel McLean has been working shifts at the busy little van for a number of years.

“It’s a great place and it’s the only stop a lot of travellers make on a regular basis.”

Regular traveller Sharyn Sinclair-Gilkison lives in New South Wales and travels into Queensland to Toowoomba.

“It’s great coming here and the coffee is good – a heart starter.”

“I need it today, I’m travelling with my P-plater,” she laughed.

The Wallangara Driver Reviver is a pet friendly location.
