Jack Spencer continues to make his mark in the Junior Darts world and has earned a call up to represent Australia in the upcoming World Darts championship’s in Assen Netherlands in December.

Selection in the Australian squad comes on the back of the talented Stanthorpe Junior’s success at the recent Queensland Junior Dart’s Championships held at West Moreton over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Juniors from across the state represented their Zones in the Championships. With no Junior Zone on the Southern Downs, Jack represents Zone 10, Logan.

In an outstanding opening day of competition Spencer won the unrestricted class. He was undefeated and finished in the top eight. His top eight finish gave him the opportunity to earn a position in the Queensland team. With just four positions and one reserve open a good performance was necessary.

On Sunday Jack threw some great darts. His game play, experience and mindset shone through. He won his games in the restricted class throwing his way into the grand final. In this game Spencer played and defeated Chayce Woods.

He is now ranked the number one Junior Boy in the Queensland for the second year in succession.

It was following this win that Spencer received his invitation to wear the green and gold.

Not one to rest on his laurels, last weekend Jack travelled to Maryborough where he played in the Maryborough Classic and finished runner up to fellow zone 10 player Chrissy Sherrin.

Although he did not get the win in Saturday’s competition on Sunday he and senior playing partner, Jordan Lacey won the Zone Five Open Men’s Doubles competition.

When not travelling for competition Jack is a regular player in the Stanthorpe Central Hotel Darts comps on Thursday evenings.

To assist with the costs associated with representing Australia in the Netherlands, Spencer and his family have begun a GoFundMe page. Jack will also be fundraising between now and December to ensure he is able represent Australia.
