The Stanthorpe junior cricket season got underway in earnest at the weekend and is off to a great start according to competition co-ordinator Damian Anderson.

“What a fantastic day we had yesterday for the first matches of white cricket and our Little Blasters were also in action,” he said.

Anderson thanked the big team of volunteers who were on hand to ensure the morning ran smoothly.

There were plenty of Mums and Dads of Mums and Dads on hand to help with Umpiring and Scoring.

There were a few teething problems on the technology side of things.

“A very big thank you to Anthony Coup from Stanthorpe Senior cricket who helped sort the online scoring hiccups,” Anderson said.

All games were completed with the Heat overpowering the Renegades and the Sixers winning a close match against Thunder.

“Junior numbers are excellent, and it has been great to see so much support from parents,” he said.
