Getting ready for exams

On Monday 31 October I had the day off school and Mum and I went to Toowoomba and Warwick for our Australian Music Examination (AMEB) exams. Mum had a viola exam in Toowoomba and I had my first piano exam in Warwick.

I’ve been learning piano from Mrs Chapman for a few years, but this was my first exam. There were lots of things to learn for my exam including scales, technical work, three pieces, general knowledge and aural skills. Before the exam, Mum organised two practice concerts for me. The first one was at Villa Carramar Aged Care and the second was in our home music studio with some friends. I was still very nervous for my exam, but I was happy with my result as I got an A. I’d like to thank Mrs Chapman for being such a wonderful teacher and helping me prepare for my exam.
