The 2023 Stanthorpe Show will see the return of the Celebrity Gingerbread House Challenge!

Six well-known locals will decorate gingerbread houses which will then be auctioned with all proceeds going to charity Bush Kids.

The first Challenge in 2020 run by the Cookery Sub-committee was a lot of fun, so they’re excited to bring it back in 2023. The hilarious antics of the decorating were enjoyed by many in the Exhibition Centre. This was followed by auctioneer Anne Lindsay’s best efforts with the gavel to sell the completed houses, raising funds for Bush Kids. Come along for all the fun on Friday afternoon!

Gingerbread Houses are also the Feature Cake – so anyone can enter! Or try your hand at one of the many classes, including Rookie cooks, teens, special needs and little ones as well. From Anzac biscuits to Zucchini muffins, there will be something you can enter. Or if it doesn’t exactly turn out how you planned, bring it along anyway and enter the new ’Hills & Valleys’ class which is especially for those sad bakes that are not picture perfect!

Sheep Dog Trials

Sheepdog Trials are an exercise in speed and skill as dogs and handlers work sheep around a set course. Dogs are judged on cast, approach, bridging, obstacle and general work. Entries close on January 12, 2023! They take place at 7am on Friday 3 February, Saturday 4 February and Sunday 5 February 2023.
