A crowd of 2500 Rodeo enthusiasts enjoyed an afternoon and evening filled with thrills and spills at The Stanthorpe Quality Meats Stanthorpe Rodeo on Saturday.

Paula Boatfield, Treasurer of the Stanthorpe Rodeo Committee said it was a very successful event.

“The weather was perfect and a great crowd enjoyed all the action in the area from early afternoon right through until around 10.30pm,” she said.

“The committee could not be happier with the support we received from local Rodeo enthusiasts and competitors.”

Competitors came from interstate, across the Southern Downs and South East Queensland as well as a number from the Granite Belt. In all there were more than 300 competitors.

Both local and visiting riders were full of praise for the venue and get right behind Stanthorpe Rodeo events because of the safety of the arena .

The proximity of the crowd in the grandstands and on the grassed area create a safe but exhilarating atmosphere. atmosphere for riders and spectators.

The Rodeo committee were supported by a number of outside vendors who provided not only a selection of food but also merchandise for the Rodeo enthusiasts. The local Stanthorpe Pony Club and Lions Club also provided some great food according.

The Stanthorpe Rodeo Committee will host the first round of the NRA Championships on 18 November 2023.

The blue ribband event, the Open Bull Ride was won by Lleyton Browne. The Feature bull supplied by J and J Felton was not ridden and the $1000 purse went unclaimed.
