It was an array of pinks for Zonta Stanthorpe Pink Luncheon on Saturday 14 October.

This is an annual event to raise funds for Breast Cancer and for this year the proceeds will be going to Breast cancer research and patient care, including the local Granite Belt Cancer Support Group.

Zonta Stanthorpe’s president Desleigh Volpato said the club were pleased at the turnout out of the day.

“We had 65 attendees and given it is a busy time of year for everyone we were pleased by the support of the community,”

The day was filled with conversation, companionship and knowledge as the guest speaker, Simone Ricketts shared her wisdom from Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia.

Simone has been an avid member Zonta since 1989 and birthing kits have always been her passion.

“I have organised many [Birthing Kits] assembly days over the years; so when the District Governor asked if I would take on the role of Zonta District 22 Birthing Kit Ambassador 2022-2024 I readily accepted,” Simone said.

Zonta Stanthorpe is part of a larger network of Zonta clubs worldwide, all united by the common goal of advancing women’s rights and welfare.

Through their collective efforts, Zonta Stanthorpe and other chapters strive to create a world where women can achieve their full potential and enjoy equal opportunities and the Pink Luncheon was just one of their efforts.
