The new Stanthorpe Probus Club committee has been elected, with Elaine Griffiths stepping up to take on the presidency for this year.

It’s been very hard to fill positions and a few assistant positions are still available for anyone wishing to volunteer.

Outgoing president Nick noted in his report that we have tried very hard to recruit new members throughout the year, with no success.

Stanthorpe Probus always welcomes new members. He thanked his committee for their support during the year.

Nick’s final duty was to present foundation member pins to 12 of our current members and a life membership award to foundation president Mal Pidgeon.

A bus trip to the Glen Innes Celtic Festival is planned for Saturday 4 May. This should be an excellent day at a great price….Get your booking in by 17 April, please.

Our March Guest speaker was Claire Blake, from QIMR Berghofer, who gave a very interesting insight into the research being done into most facets of personal health.

Over 1000 staff work at this amazing research facility in Brisbane. Go to their website and check it out…..it’s amazing.
