It was a night for giving thanks at the Border District Eisteddfod on Wednesday 22 May.
Sponsors were invited for an early evening gathering at the Stanthorpe Civic Centre supper room so eisteddfod organisers could show their gratitude officially for the support and funding the event had received.
Mayor Melissa Hamilton and a number of councillors were at the event, and eisteddfod organising committee president Anne Lindsay thanked the council and State Government for a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant that had been received for the eisteddfod.
It was also a chance for sponsors to talk to some of the organisers and if they wanted to stay after the drinks and nibbles they could see firsthand a showcase of the event during the night’s open competitions in the music section.
