The Warwick Library has embraced social media by creating its first Facebook page.
The page will feature a range of handy reference links, keep residents informed about library events and offer a new way to engage with readers, according to Librarian Marianne Potter.
Mrs Potter said libraries were played an integral part in the community, and a part of that was keeping up to date with communications and information channels.
“Libraries have been offering internet services for many years now, and this is just another step in the use of technology and social networking,” she said.
The availability of WIFI (wireless internet) has not yet been raised at the Warwick Library, but would likely be the next big move.
