Let there be light and in the coming months there will be light and plenty of it at the CF White Oval with the announcement that the Stanthorpe Sports Association have been successful in obtaining funding of $100,000 through their “Get Playing Application” to install new field lighting at CF White Oval.
Local Co-coordinator of the Stanthorpe Sports Association Inc., Michael Jensen is excited by the news. Jensen said that it had been a hard slog to obtain the funding for this very important project. “The last piece to the funding puzzle has finally been achieved,” he said.
We have been chasing funding for a number of years and it now with tenders called the work will start in the near future. “Thanks must go to Minister Steve Dickson and the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing for selecting this worthwhile project.”
“This will be a great benefit to the district. We are hopeful that once the lights are in place we will be able to draw peak sporting bodies here to the district to make use of our facilities as well as provide A1 facilities for our own sporting teams and juniors.”
