Stanthorpe supporting in style

Bernie Pramburg and Ced Wise, dubbed the odd couple, kept the crowd entertained with their honest yarns.

The second annual Bling and Bow Tie Charity Dinner lit up the Stanthorpe International Club on 31 August, bringing together the community for a glamorous evening in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

The event, organised by the Rotary Club of The Granite Belt (RCOTGB), was an opportunity for locals to don their finest attire, walk the red carpet, and contribute to a worthy cause.

There was a giving tree again, and all of the funds went entirely to RFDS.

This year’s event followed the success of last year’s fundraiser, which supported LifeFlight.

The evening was designed to be both fun and relaxed, with guests treated to bubbles on arrival and a red carpet experience. Renowned local chef Jason Costanzo provided a culinary delight, while the local duo No Relation kept everyone entertained with live music.

Attendees also had the chance to hear from guest speakers Bernie Pramberg, a retired sports journalist and author, and Dr. Cedric Wise, a globally recognised authority on cattle breeding from Glen Aplin. Their insights were eagerly received, with many appreciating the rare opportunity to connect with such accomplished individuals from their own community.

Overall, the Bling and Bow Tie Charity Dinner not only offered a night of entertainment and elegance but also reinforced the community’s commitment to supporting vital services like the RFDS.
