The Warwick Friends of BUSHkids hosted their much-anticipated annual Bush Dance on Saturday, 31 August, at the One Table Café & Function Room on the Churches of Christ Campus. The event, a major fundraiser for the Warwick BUSHkids Centre, was a lively success, drawing in locals for an evening of music, dancing, and community spirit.

The highlight of the night was the performance by the Band O’ Coots, a beloved bush band that has been a long-time supporter of BUSHkids. Their energetic tunes set the tone for a night of fun, with attendees filling the dance floor to enjoy the traditional music. The band, known for its lively performances, kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening.

In addition to the music, guests were treated to a delicious BBQ prepared by the staff of One Table Café, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event was not just about entertainment; it also served an important cause. The funds raised from the Bush Dance will go directly to supporting the Warwick BUSHkids Centre, particularly for ongoing projects like the sensory nature play area. This area, funded by last year’s event, is now a vital part of the centre, used for individual therapy sessions and the weekly BUSHkids Playgroup.

The success of the Bush Dance underscores the strong community support for BUSHkids and its mission to provide essential services to children and families in the region. Organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the cause, ensuring that the Warwick Centre can continue its important work.
