Warwick Women’s Golf Club

What a big week it has been around the Warwick Golf club this week. Wednesday, they played a single Stableford sponsored by The Warwick golf club Pro Shop.

Jill Barnes had her game fine-tuned returning with a wonderful 39 points to take out the trophy of the day.

Lynn Lane was the next golfer with 37. Both these ladies were in good form going into the club’s open day on Thursday.

The rundown went to Kath Devereux 36 CB, Donna Keogh 36, Annice Payne 35 CB, Narelle Norris 35 , and Anne Lyons 33. The pro pin was taken out by Jo McAntee, and shared with Helen Olsen, Sharron Cooper, and Melanie McLennan.

Thursday Warwick hosted the Annual Zone 1 Women’s Open Day. There were 85 players from 14 different clubs, vying for trophies from sponsors The Warwick Credit Union, who sponsored the Stroke Events, and John Dee Beef who sponsored our Stableford Events.

Saturday September 7, they played the September Monthly Medal.

Club Warwick RSL was a sponsor for this event, and it is of course a very sought after one every month.

Trish Bell has a great day out on the course, returning a card with 69 nett, to take out Division One. Bell also took home the putting trophy for the day, with only 25 putts for her round. Playing below her handicap, and no doubt she had a smile coming back into the clubhouse after play. Kath Devereux was next with a great 70 nett. Devereux continued her good form from Thursday where she was one of the clever winners. Carole Brandon had a great round to win Division two, with a 70 nett. Maria Carey was the runner up with 74 nett. Carey also won the putting for Division two, having just 29 putts for her round. Margaret Adcock and Jo McAntee took home the approaches for Division One, with Carole and Donna Keogh taking home the Division two approaches. Maria Carey secured the pro pin with an awesome birdie on the 11th, and shared the pro pin with Anne Lyons, Trish Bell and Jill Barnes. Many thanks to Club Warwick RSL for your continued support of Womens golf in Warwick.
