Stanthorpe’s Weeroona Park was transformed into a lively hub of activity on the first day of school holidays, as BUSHkids hosted a fun-filled Family Fun Day.

BUSHkids joined many local services such as Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre, Lillies Cubby House, Goolburri, Granite Belt Support Services and New Day Recovery Coaching.

The event, aimed to keep children entertained with a variety of creative and interactive activities.

Families enjoyed craft stations where children could design their own family flags and carnival masks, as well as participate in sensory play, clay and sand art, rainbow spaghetti, and face painting.

There were also opportunities to decorate shirts, canvases, and boomerangs, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

BUSHkids has been supporting the health and wellbeing of children and families across Queensland’s regional, rural, and remote communities for over 85 years.

The organisation provides free preventative and early intervention allied healthcare services, helping disadvantaged children who may be at risk of poor health, educational, or social outcomes.

By collaborating with both government and non-government organisations, BUSHkids ensures that children and families, particularly those facing barriers to accessing local services due to affordability or availability, receive the support they need to thrive.

The event was a hit with local families, offering a fun and engaging start to the school holidays while promoting the valuable work BUSHkids continues to do in the community.
