The Granite Belt Art and Craft Trail – better known as GBART – may be just over a year away but now is the time to get involved according to the group’s Artisan Development Officer Krishna Heffernan.

The event – to be held again from 23-26 October 2025 – is expected to be bigger and better than ever but they need volunteers to make that happen.

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of GBART,” Krishna said.

“Without them, we simply wouldn’t exist.

“Our volunteers are incredibly passionate about the arts and are dedicated to supporting creativity in our region. That’s what makes GBART so special—volunteers come together because they believe in giving artisans and creatives the platform to shine and showcase their talents to the public.

“Since 2019, GBART has been a highlight on the arts calendar, known for our vibrant Arts Trail. Our upcoming event from October 23rd to 26th, 2025, will be four fantastic days of creative expression across the Granite Belt region.

“This year, we’re expanding to include performance art, music, dance, and a special program for young people. The Granite Belt is rich with talented artisans, and GBART 2025 will be their moment to shine.”

Krishna said volunteers didn’t have to be artisans to be involved.

“We have a variety of exciting volunteer roles available for the 2025 event, and we’re actively looking for people to get involved,” she said.

“Right now, we’re focused on planning and fundraising, and we need volunteer coordinators for market stalls, exhibitions, sponsorship, and marketing/social media.

“Don’t worry if you’re unsure about taking on these roles—we provide full support and training to ensure you feel confident and supported throughout the process.”

“We’d love to hear from anyone interested! You can email me at artisan@gbart.org.au or call me on 0408 221 771.

“Even if you’re not ready to volunteer right now, get in touch and I’ll keep you informed as we get closer to the event. Let’s chat and see how you can be part of GBART 2025.”
