Sip, stay and savour at Mountview Wines

The Granite Belt’s Mountview Wines, is a property steeped in history. Originally established as part of a returned serviceman’s parcel of land, this estate has been growing grapes since the early 1900s.

In 1990, the owners constructed the cellar door, which now stands as the hub for visitors eager to explore the estate’s offerings. Over time, Mountview has expanded its appeal by offering accommodation in the form of charming cabins and camping facilities, creating an inviting getaway for guests seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the region.

Known for specialising in red wines, Mountview’s standout offering is their aptly named Bloody Good Red, a smooth and balanced blend of Shiraz, Cabernet, and Merlot.

This signature wine has become a favourite for many, showcasing the estate’s dedication to producing high-quality red varieties that are deeply reflective of the Granite Belt’s unique climate and soil.

In addition to wine, Mountview provides a range of experiences for its guests. Visitors are welcome to use the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and BBQ facilities, making it an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy a relaxed afternoon on the estate.

The owners have exciting plans for the future, including hosting Sunday afternoon sessions with live music and pizzas, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the Mountview experience.

Sustainability is also a key aspect of Mountview Wines’ operations, though specific details were not fully outlined. Nevertheless, the estate remains committed to using its resources responsibly, ensuring that their winemaking processes continue to align with the natural beauty and rich agricultural traditions of the Granite Belt region.

Looking ahead, Mountview Wines will be collaborating with Cooked from Scratch cooking school for the upcoming Grazing the Granite Belt event in November.

This partnership promises a delightful blend of food and wine, offering visitors the chance to experience the best of what the region has to offer.

With its rich history, exceptional wines, and a welcoming environment, Mountview Wines is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Granite Belt.
