WARWICK police numbers will be reinforced with specialist units from Brisbane to ensure public safety at this weekend’s Rose and Rodeo festival. Units will include the police dog squad and the public safety response team.

Bikie scrutiny
WARWICK police intercepted a group of motorcyclists and their associates in Wood Street on Sunday, following intelligence they may have been members of an outlaw motorcycle club.
No charges were laid under new State Government legislation cracking down on criminal gangs.
However, one rider was charged with having a blood alcohol content of 0.095 per cent, almost twice the legal limit. Another was issued with a defect notice for his motorbike.

Full moon?
A 17-YEAR-OLD man who dropped his trousers and showed his buttocks to a passing police patrol in Palmerin Street, Warwick at 1am Saturday found himself under arrest and in the watchhouse. He was charged with being a public nuisance and issued with a $330 ticket before being released.

Burnout blues
A WARWICK man, 31, did a burnout, squealing his tyres and creating tyre smoke as he drove off after being spoken to by police at a local service station
When police returned to Warwick Police Station the driver was there waiting for them. The man explained he “had been having a bad day” and was issued with a Notice to Appear.

Well over limit
A 22-YEAR-OLD Warwick man was caught driving with almost four times the permitted amount of alcohol in his bloodstream.
The man was driving on Albion Street, Warwick when he was stopped on Thursday, 17 October. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.196 per cent.
