Tuesday (17 December) drew a field of 32 veterans. The winner was Tony Hassall with 41 points from runner-up Max Dickson with 40 points on a count-back.
On Tuesday (24 December) 26 veterans played and the winner was Brian Curry with 46 points from runner-up Max Dickson with 42 points.
On Tuesday (31 December) 34 players competed in a single’s stableford event in hot, sunny conditions. The daily winner was John Milton who scored 41 points to relegate Gary Sutcliffe 40 points to runner-up. The ball run down went to Bill Eastgate 38, Peter Brown 38, John Gower 38, Terry Daly 37, Heather Gower 37, and Rod Hair 37 all on a count-back. The front nine went to Peter Mustoo with 22 points, while the back nine was taken out by Max Dickson with 20 points. Nearest the pin was Garry Nicholls on the 18th at 179cm. Mystery hole number 13 all squared with three pointers and captain’s draw went to to David Dunnett.
As requested by members the veterans’ programme for 2014 has been modified to feature more variety in the weekly fixtures. There will be a new programme book available soon, until then January fixtures will be posted on the Vets’ notice board.
There will be no play on Tuesday 14 January as Tenterfield Junior Classic is in progress, Vets will play Thursday 16 instead.
