YOUNG locals will help train Vietnamese staff as McDonald’s prepares to open its first restaurant in the country.
Courtney Cunningham of Stanthorpe and Kyle Nicholson of Warwick joined a team of McDonald’s workers and managers who will train staff ahead of the opening in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday, 8 February.
The pair, shift supervisors in Warwick and Stanthorpe, will also join McDonald’s staff from Singapore and the Philippines during the week for a crew rally.
Their trip is fully funded by McDonald’s Vietnam, who are also providing them with a two-night holiday at a local beach resort in appreciation for her efforts.
The trip is part of a training program that has seen McDonald’s Australia play a key role in the in establishment of the company in Vietnam.
A group of Vietnamese trainees have also travelled to Queensland to undertake training in local restaurants.
