Tree jumpers for Leslie Park

Jumpers and Jazz Festival organisers are calling for local residents to use their creative flair and design a tree jumper for Leslie Park.
Artistic director Karina Devine said there were about 20 small trees still available in Leslie Park to be dressed up for the annual Jumpers and Jazz Festival. Ms Devine said this was a perfect opportunity for residents, local families, or community groups who have never made a tree jumper before.
“It’s always fun to look at the tree jumpers but it’s more fun when you’ve made them yourself,” she said.
It’s free to enter, with $200 up for grabs for the winner of this section. The theme for trees in Leslie Park is “a rose by any other name”.
If interested, drop into the Warwick Art Gallery for more details and to be assigned a tree. The Jumpers and Jazz is a 10-day festival, starting on July 21, which incorporates a diverse program of jazz and is a platform for the arts.
