Hosted by Biosecurity Queensland, the seminar covered animal welfare – pigs, on-farm biosecurity, exotic and emergency diseases, Swill feeding, livestock identification, livestock traceability and quality assurance.
Presenters were Biosecurity Queensland representatives Lyndon Dadswell (Toowoomba), Nigel Boyce (Gatton) and Peter Mowett (Warwick).
One of the highlights of the seminar was a practical demonstration of applying National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) ear tags using dried pet shop pigs’ ears.
