Beginning with biodynamics

At the recent gathering of the Border Landcare Organic Group (BLOG), participants were entertained by the irrepressible Leyland Minter demonstrating the results of plant trials of his miraculous organic products.
Jane I’Ons also explained the geology of the granite highlands and added some interesting details of the properties of diatomaceous earth and its many uses in organic agriculture.
This Saturday, BLOG will present an introductory talk on biodynamics.
This is in response to frequent requests from a growing number of people interested in this extension of organic cultivation.
The talk will be followed by the retrieval of the cow horns, which were filled with manure and buried in autumn, and should now be transformed into a rich, energised compost material called ‘500’.
The event will be at John and Julie Lindsay’s property, 541 Dalcouth Road (corner of Sugarloaf Road), Stanthorpe.
It will start with morning tea at 9.30am. The talks will start at 10.30am, followed by lunch about 12.30pm. Bring lunch or morning tea to share, cup, plate, hat and a chair.
