All active Australian Defence Force personnel and their families are invited to receive free VIP entry to the inaugural 2012 Mountview Music Muster in Glen Aplin.
On Saturday, November 17, Mountview Wines will come alive with country music and, in recognition of the long history that the property has with diggers, the owners want to give back. Hosts David and Angela McGrath would like to say thank you to our nation’s finest.
“Just after the First World War, 17,500 acres of land around Glen Aplin and Stanthorpe were given over to resettlement lots for soldiers recovering from Mustard Gas exposure,” Mr McGrath said.
“In fact, Mountview was originally a soldier resettlement property and the house is still original.
“So just over 92 years after a returned soldier planted the first vines at Mountview, we want to shout diggers a day out to say thank you and provide a small gratuity for the people who give so much and ask so little in return.”
Part of the Muster proceeds will also be donated to the local Rural Fire Brigade.
The Mountview Music Muster features two-times Golden Guitar winner and 2010 Toyota Starmaker Luke Austen, along with 2011 Toyota Starmaker winner Luke Dickens, country music star Tarscha, and local rising stars Amanda Halloran and Amanda Faulkner.
Visitors can participate, themselves, in a Talent Quest and Ute Muster, or just relax in the vineyard with a glass of wine and some great food.
