Operation ‘Sweeper’ targeting drugs in the Stanthorpe and Warwick areas was conducted last week.
Stanthorpe Police, assisted by officers from Warwick, Goondiwindi, Wallangarra, Texas, the Stock Squad and Dog Squad executed a number of search warrants in the Stanthorpe area.
One address in Donges Road, Severnlea located a quantity of cannabis and charges are expected to be preferred against a resident at that address after Police complete investigations.
A house in Marinis Road, Glen Aplin was also targeted with cannabis, syringes and a number of pills located.
The 51-year-old occupant was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drug and it is anticipated that further charges will result after analysis of the pills located is complete.
A search of a large property in Glentana Road, Dalveen located a number of crop sites and a total of 73 cannabis plants with associated watering systems.
Police then executed a warrant on premises in Greer Street, Stanthorpe where further cannabis and other drug paraphernalia was located.
Police will be interviewing the occupant in regards to the material located in Greer Street and also Dalveen and expect to lay drug related charges including Producing Dangerous Drugs.
And the list goes on.
On December 14 a 27-year-old male was charged with the Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Utensils in Warwick.
On the same day a 40-year-old male from Warwick, an 18-year-old from Warwick and a 16-year-old female were charged with the same. The 16-year-old was also charged for Permitting Premises for Using Dangerous Drugs and will be dealt with under the Juvenile Justice Act.
On Saturday, a 17-year-old female from Benlea was charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Utensils. And on Sunday 42-year-old, 40-year-old and 63-year-old males from Warwick were charged with Possessing Utensils.
