Masons open the doors

By JONATHON HOWARD

ST GEORGE’S on Guy Street in Warwick will host an open day on Sunday, 28 April.
The Masonic Center will open between 9am to 2pm for those interested in joining.
There will be Freemasons from the Lodge attending to show visitors around and answer questions about the world’s oldest fraternity.
A short film about Freemasonry will run all day and light refreshments will be offered.
“Many local men are interested but just don’t know how to go about joining,” Director of Ceremonies Stephen Bond said.
“That’s the reason we’re opening the doors.
“Freemasonry isn’t a religion and most of the things people hear about the ’craft’, as it’s often called, are wrong or just cyber-space rubbish.”
Mr Bond said Freemasonry was more ancient than the Golden Fleece or the Roman eagle and while it’s true they had secrets, it was not a secret society.
“Meet the Masons Day could very well change your life,” he said.
“Freemasonry makes good men better.”
