THE installation of new play gear at Australiana Park is nearing completion and children will soon be able to enjoy some amazing and unique playground equipment in Warwick.
As a first in Queensland, the new playground will include a 30-metre long Flying Fox.
This Lappset brand flying fox will provide endless entertainment and adventure for children of all ages.
Continuing to lead the way, the playground will also incorporate an XS Speed Item; a truly unique piece of play gear which is the first one in Australia of the Lappset brand, and quite possibly of any brand.
The XS Speed item has four seats, moves in and out, side to side and also spins a full circle.
“It’s wonderful for our community to have such unique play gear,” said Mayor Peter Blundell.
“Council is keeping to its commitment to support a healthy, active Southern Downs lifestyle and is also leading the way with this innovative approach.“It will be great for children to be able to enjoy something a bit different.”
The new playground will also include large climbing cubes, a bird’s nest swing and a balancing/wobble board.
Once all the new equipment has been installed, council’s community facilities staff will begin landscaping the area to complete the project. The new playground will provide an alternative to the usual playground gear and with the landscaped surrounds, will provide an amenity for all to enjoy.
An announcement on the opening of the new playground will be made once all works have been completed.
