Country music singer Dan Henwood was in Stanthorpe this week filming a music video for his latest single, This Is Us.

The EP will be released early next year and the rising star is hoping to tour with some of Australia’s bigger named country music singers.

According to Henwood, he feels fortunate to have achieved some major goals and met some of his favourite influences so far.

“From a young age Lee Kernaghan has been a great inspiration to me and so has James Blundell,” Henwood said.

Henwood has performed alongside The Wolfe Brothers, where he played guitar live on stage at numerous shows.

His skill has taken him on the road through many towns, where he accompanies other artists as a session guitarist.

As a two-time graduate of the Country Music Association Junior Academy and recent nominations in all categories of the Country Music People’s Choice Awards Final, he is a young talent to watch.

Henwood grew up in the country town of Wangaratta, however he now calls the bright lights of Brisbane home.

“Since the age of eleven I’ve been playing guitar and I started singing at the age of sixteen,” he said.

In 2019 Henwood released his first album.

“My second album was released this year in January and the third album with the single ‘This Is Us’ is looking at releasing early next year,” he said.

Henwood captures a traditional country sound whilst harmonising with modern country rock.

His new release compliments his love and feel for the genre.

Henwood said he has plenty of new material on the horizon.

“I’m excited to share my new songs and film the latest video in Stanthorpe.”

“I hope you will all enjoy it as much as I did making it,” he said.
