Preparations for dinner for a cause

Kim McCosker comes home for a good cause.

Jason is currently planning his menu for the Bling and Bow Tie Dinner – the Rotary Club of the Granite Belts Charity Dinner on 19 August at the Stanthorpe International Club.

Club president Mary Puglisi said proceeds of the event will go to the RACQ LifeFlight.

“We constantly hear or see the LifeFlight helicopter coming in to land or leaving the Stanthorpe Hospital Heli Pad,” Mary said.

“The service RACQ LifeFlight provides to our community is amazing.

“For many a trip in the Life Flight chopper has been life altering; for others literally been lifesaving.

“We could not think of a better organisation to support for this inaugural Charity dinner.

“We hope the “Bling and Bow Tie Dinner” will become the club’s annual signature event.”

Guests will walk the Red Carpet on arrival and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles while mingling before enjoying Jason’s banquet and the music of local duo ‘Not Related”.

There will also be three guest speakers for the evening, all remarkable women with inspiring stories.

“I am delighted to announce that during the evening we will be inspired by guest speakers with strong ties to our local community,” Mary said.

“Two are remarkable women who are much sought after guest speakers and will delight, entertain and inspire”.

Catherine O’Sullivan has a remarkable journey, from Stanthorpe High School Captain and 1980 Apple and Grape Queen entrant to acclaimed Educator, Churchill Fellow, Chief Judge of The Telstra Women in Business awards and an award recipient.

Sharing the stage with Catherine will be another successful entrepreneur and Stanthorpe export, Kim McCosker founder of the powerhouse 4 Ingredients Brand.

“We are also hoping there may be another very inspirational speaker who has had an extraordinary interaction with LifeFlight but details are yet to be confirmed.”

Local businesses have been very supportive of the dinner providing prizes for a ‘Giving Tree’ and there will be other fund raising opportunities throughout the evening.

“We hope to be joined by representatives of RACQ LIfeFlight at the dinner”, Mary said. “This is a golden opportunity for our community to say thank you and give back to an organisation that provides such a vital lifeline to the community.”

Tickets for the dinner are currently on sale through TRY Booking or can be purchased from Maddie’s Gift Gallery.
