The eagerly awaited Jumpers and Jazz in July festival has arrived, bringing major weekend celebrations and engaging mid-week events that weave together creativity and culture.

Peter Homan, CEO of Queensland Country, said this quirky festival draws thousands of visitors annually.

“Jumpers & Jazz in July not only showcases the vibrant cultural heritage of the Southern Downs & Granite Belt but also boosts the local economy, attracting visitors from far and wide,” Mr Homan said.

“This unique event fosters community connection and pride, creating a festive atmosphere that brightens the cool winter days with its blend of craft and jazz.

“We encourage winter revellers to celebrate the chill in Warwick!”

Pam Burley, president of Jumpers & Jazz in July, said Warwick is getting ready to welcome visitors.

“The vibe is building in Warwick as we get ready for the Jumpers and Jazz festival to begin on Wednesday with the dressing of the trees in the CBD, We can’t wait to welcome our visitors to join us for the 160 event experiences available in the festival program,” said Ms Burley.

The first weekend kicked off with all the Jazz and woolly warmth you could imagine, here are the event highlights:

Jumpin’ Jazz Laneway Party: Friday, 19 July

Gates open at 5pm

Kick off the festival with the Jumpin’ Jazz Laneway Party in the funky Legends Laneway and the grand old historic Warwick Town Hall.

Featuring performances by Big Kitty and Cigany Weaver.

Arrive from 5pm to enjoy the laneway vibe and alfresco dining. Tables are available for everyone.

Remaining tickets are available at entry for Town Hall concert seating.

Saturday Downtown Jazz: 20 July

New Location: Rear Town Hall Precinct, 10:30am – 4[pm

Featuring performances by UQ Big Band, Dezzie d & the Stingrayz, Trombone Kellie Gang, and Louie Shelton Guitar Showcase.

Enjoy the vibrant precinct between the Town Hall and the Art Gallery with quirky furniture, umbrellas, plenty of tables and seating, a dance floor, food vendors, and coffee.

Wander between the Gallery Artisan Markets and the Downtown Jazz stage or visit St Mark’s for the Yarntopian Display, Spinners & Weavers, Art @ St Marks, Flower Tower, and more.

The event concludes with a performance by Louie Shelton, session guitarist for artists such as Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, and others.

This is a free event.

Grand Automobile Display: Sunday, 21 July

Open to the public from 9:30am – 2pm

A fabulous static display of veteran, vintage, classic, and muscle cars, including classic motorcycles and machinery, in Palmerin St and Leslie Park.

Three live music stages at the Post Office, Town Hall, and Leslie Park, featuring musicians chosen to suit car enthusiasts.

Enjoy brunch, lunch, and coffee at Warwick’s many cafés or food vendors, including a high morning tea on the Criterion Deck.

Spend the day strolling through the exhibition and chatting with the owners.

Additional entertainment with great jazz performers at Criterion Hotel after the cars leave.

20th Anniversary Commemorative Program Available Now:

The Jumpers and Jazz Committee has released a 20th Anniversary Commemorative Program, a full-gloss “collectors edition“ album filled with stories, anecdotes, and images from the past 20 years of the festival. It also includes the complete program of events, featuring over 160 activities.
