A night of light jazz

Step into a glittery evening filled with the smooth, soulful sounds of jazz at SCOTS PGC’s

‘A Night of Light Jazz’. Set against the backdrop of our Oxenham Street campus, this event will literally light up your night and promises to be a highlight of the Jumpers and Jazz Festival calendar.

The Year 9 and 10 STEM students have been working hard throughout Terms 2 and 3, designing and programming a special light show which is choreographed to some of our all-time favourite jazz tunes. As this College event enters its fourth year of production, the students of SCOTS PGC warmly welcome all local and visiting guests to come along and enjoy this free community event, which showcases the collective creativity and technical talent of our STEM class.

“SCOTS PGC College is committed to supporting our local community. We look forward to the Jumpers and Jazz festivities each year – our light show, ‘A Night of Light Jazz’ is just another way we can be involved and show our support for the wider community,” says Angela Brittain, the Head of STEM at SCOTS PGC College.

“We first joined the Jumpers and Jazz program four years ago. Each year I am impressed by our students and the way they work together to bring new design ideas to the table. I can see the show has certainly evolved over time and I am really proud of what we are presenting to the community.”

On Thursday 25 July, Friday 26 July and Saturday 27 July, our historic grounds will transform into a dazzling display of twinkling lights that illuminate the Warwick night sky. Guests will find the light show on the Oxenham Street campus on the driveway that leads up to the College Chapel and Cenotaph. The show will be open between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on all three evenings.

To add to the atmosphere (and combat the cold!), on Thursday and Friday evening, hot drinks will be available for purchase from the College’s Hospitality students at the Assembly Hall. Light refreshments will also be on sale from the College Parents and Friends Association.

‘A Night of Light Jazz’ is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of community and culture. This is a free community event and we warmly invite you all to come along and be part of what we have created.
