The “new Stephanie’s” has been up and running for six weeks now in Grafton Street, Warwick. The store has been a fixture in Warwick for more than thirty years, originally based at 95 Grafton Street. After changing hands, the business moved to Palmerin Street for about 15 years.
The current Proprietor, Lyndall McCormack has owned Stephanie’s for two years.
Plans to expand the store had been in place for about a year, before Lyndall settled on the former TAB premises next to the Cinema, as the next location for the popular underwear boutique.
Lyndall said the colorful and innovative window displays add pizzazz to Grafton Street – a real draw card for window shoppers on their way to work or heading to the Cinema.
She said the contrast between the old TAB and the new underwear store is a great surprise to shoppers.
“The room is painted white, and the dark glass has gone,” Lyndall explained.
“The room is now spacious, airy and bright.
“The quiet and relaxing space invites shoppers to browse. Dramatic floor to ceiling display cases feature on-trend underwear, swimwear, and loungewear fashions.”
The store caters for all ages, and focuses on underwear and sleepwear.
Lyndall said the store aimed to help customers with every wardrobe dilemma.
“Underwear can make or break an outfit, and often people have a last-minute dress drama,” she said.
“We have solved problems for girls literally on the way to the races, formals, parties and even weddings”.
Stephanie’s qualified fitters provide prosthetics, underwear, swim and lounge wear for post surgery needs arising from breast cancer.
As well, to cater for special occasions, in addition to everyday bras and briefs, Stephanie’s stocks a wide variety of shapewear, petticoats, slips, camisoles and hosiery, including maternity.
Lyndall said one of the best parts of the business is helping customer’s select a gift for birthdays and anniversaries.
“Gentlemen are very welcome at Stephanie’s, and we really enjoy helping the customer choose something special, and then gift wrapping”, Lyndall said.
The store is currently well stocked with beautiful summer garments, in anticipation of the end of year/Christmas shopping.
