Char-Belas Restaurant is Warwick’s first Uber Eats provider, after the business signed up last December.
Although other restaurants and takeaway joints have been offering Menulog delivery service, Uber Eats is now an option too.
Char-Belas manager Arsh Virk has owned the restaurant for 10 months and was prompted to introduce Uber Eats after the business saw success with Menulog – as the only restaurant not requiring a minimum payment for delivery.
“It’s been quite good – lots of tourists,” Arsh said.
“There’s been lots of deliveries to motels and hotels, especially last December.”
Arsh said that unlike visitors, locals prefer to dine-in or call and pick up their order.
“We’ve had success with tourists because they trust and know the service,” he said.
“Also with Covid, people are not feeling comfortable coming into restaurants.”
Char-Belas Restaurant is located at 81 Grafton Street, beside Warwick Twin Cinema.
