Warwick Heritage Centre helps out flood affected communities

The Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre in Warwick has done its part to help flood-affected communities in Lismore.

The Heritage Centre donated over 100 shirts, 20 caps, and 10 bags.

Teilah McKelvey said, “we tried to think of things they could use immediately and that didn’t need to be stored”.

For locals looking to help out, Teilah said more bags might go down if there is a need for them, but “we are very conscious to make sure what we sent was needed and could be used”.

“In times of crisis we all like to dig in together, but it’s so important to ensure our donations can be taken and utilised.”

Elly Bird, the coordinator of Resilient Lismore, echoed this sentiment when she urged people to be considerate about what goods they donate.

The Lismore Government has urged those interested in helping to donate to the Lismore Flood Fund by direct bank transfer.
